What, to you, is the first sign of spring? Have you seen it yet?
Submitted by Spy.
Around here, The Bike Lady is the first sign of spring. I've heard that she vacations somewhere south during the winter. But then somewhere around mid to late April you'll see her on that old Schwinn complete the basket on the front and handlebar streamers riding the local roads. No gears, and we have some pretty challenging hills around here.
I think she spends the summer collecting cans and bottles from the side of the road.

What is your earliest memory?

I want to say it was my 3rd birthday - may have been my 4th. My mother and I are at a football game at Lane College. I don't remember who won, but I do remember watching a player go end zone to end zone on a kick off return. It was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen.
Afterwards we walked back to Aunt Pauline's house where Ma had parked. We had ice cream. I remember sitting on Gail's lap and her tickling me.
I tried to con my mother into stopping at Burger Chef on the way home (like I always did), but she wasn't going for it.

Update: The funny thing is I'm not a big fan of love songs (especially of the "down on my knees begging you please" variety). So I was surprised to see just how many love themed tunes that spun up. I wouldn't have guessed that I had that many. BTW - My favorite "love song" is "Love Rears It's Ugly Head" by Living Color.
What's your motto?
I stole it from my mom: "And this too shall pass." When I'm flying high it keeps me humble. When I'm feeling low it gives me hope.
What's your middle name? Is there a story or history behind it?
It's Bernard. No big story. My mom went through a baby book calling out first and middle names until my dad found something he liked.
I only got called "Bernard" when I was in trouble, just like everybody else I imagine.
